As the birthplace of Oakland University and a National Historic Landmark, Meadow Brook is a place to learn, connect and be inspired. The historic home of OU founders Matilda Dodge and Alfred Wilson was constructed between 1926 and 1929 for $4 million. It represents one of the finest examples of Tudor-revival architecture in America.
Today, Meadow Brook’s focus is on inspiration, interpretation and engagement. By creating special educational programs—such as our new Meadow Brook Art and Science Camps for young students—and bringing engaging stories of the estate—to life in the new Visitor Center. Meadow Brook’s vibrant collection of tours, events, programs and experiences is drawing more and more people to the Great Estate.
