The Division of Student Affairs & Diversity is comprised of 24 departments that are dedicated to engaging students in an active learning environment that allows for the practical application of knowledge obtained in the classroom. By cultivating a supportive environment that bridges students, faculty and University staff, we make a positive impact on student success, retention and graduation.

OU Student Emergency Fund (30388)
Gifts will be matched up to $1,155 thanks to donations from the OUAA Advisory Board members: Beth Benson, Julie Granthen, Mark Guthrie, Renique Kersh, Michael Lechenfeldt, Lynne Lombard, Judith Pritchett, Robert Ray, Timothy Shanahan, Scott Shermetaro, Elizabeth Talbert , Chris VanDanElzen and Kaniqua Welch.
Created to assist Oakland University students who encounter an unforeseen financial emergency or events which would otherwise prevent them from continuing their education at Oakland.
OU Student Food Pantry/Golden Grizzlies Pantry (31081)
Thanks to a generous donation from Kroger Co. gifts up to $10,000 will be matched.
The Golden Grizzlies Pantry assists those in need by providing food and community resources to positively impact success at Oakland University.
CMI Student Retention Fund Scholarship (DSRFS)
All gifts up to $549.50 will be matched thanks to donations from members of the Black Alumni Chapter; Angela Banister, Victor Bonds, Denise Burke, Shalonda Dennis, Ashleigh Douglas, Patrece Hamblin, April Jackson, Carl Jackson, Stephanie Lee, Eleanor Reynolds, Robert Thornton and Brenda VanTull.
The Center for Multicultural Initiatives Student Retention Fund was created to help historically underrepresented students finish what they started by offering the support needed to complete their degrees. This fund has been a key priority of the Black Alumni Chapter.
Dr. Karl D. Gregory Endowed Scholarship (61664)
All gifts will be matched up to $623.50 thanks to donations from members of the Black Alumni Chapter; Victor Bonds, Denise Burke, Tia Cobb, Sharman Cobb-Davenport, Asia Colston, Robynn Diamond, Patrece Hamblin, Stephanie Lee, Michelle Southward, Robert Thornton and Brenda VanTull.
Established by Dr. Karl Gregory, retired Distinguished Professor Emeritus at the OU School of Business to support his passion for helping students achieve success in education. Dr. Gregory was instrumental in the development of diversity and equal opportunity initiatives at OU. The scholarship supports undergraduate students in good academic standing who have successfully completed at least 12 credits and demonstrate financial need. Preference may be given to first generation students.
Gender & Sexuality Center Gift Fund (30325)
All gifts will be matched up to $1,000 thanks to a donation from David Coulter.
Supports the retention and graduation of LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, nonbinary, queer, intersex, and asexual or otherwise non-heterosexual and non-cisgender) students through education and retention initiatives for all members of the OU community.
Orientation Group Leader Spirit Award (31011)
All gifts up to $500 will be matched thanks to donations from members of the Young Alumni Chapter; Katie Aleck, Russell Bauer, Kristiana Bozinovski, Kate Clark, Aaron Helander, Katie Juronoc, Elizabeth Lekarczyk, Ruthie Paulus, Olivia Rewold, Kristen Skladd, Andrew Stupka and Zack Thomas.
The OGL Spirit Award was created in 1999 in memory of former Director of Orientation, Marilyn Ragan Broderick after her passing. Marilyn was an OU alumna, had the aura of a rainbow, and a heart of gold. This award recognizes a student who has demonstrated excellent leadership skills and team work during their tenure as an orientation group leader. This person is engaging, passionate, and involved.
Veterans Affairs Gifts (30276)
Thanks to a donation from Steve Mackey, gifts up to $500 will be matched.
This fund provides resources for veteran students to achieve their academic and personal goals.
